„I am not in danger, Skyler. I AM the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No! I am the one who knocks.“– Walter White
Have you ever wanted to watch a good TV crime show about a high school chemistry teacher and his formerstudent cooking up some crystal meth in an RV? No? Too bad, because you might be missing out on something really exciting, aka these series. The cool people who chose the antonym answer ‚yes‘ can read on more about this show. (This show might not be suitable for younger viewers who know absolutely nothing about chemistry, it‘s periodic table and well… because of violence, drugs, swear words, some awkward scenes. But that last part is not really important.)
Let‘s go through the technicalities first. This show was created byVince Gilligan. The main characters, two crazy guys (Walter White & Jesse Pinkman) are played by Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul. These series has 5 seasons, 62 episodes, each 49 minutes (3.030 min entire show). It‘s been ranked on IMDb 9.5\10 stars. That‘s pretty incredible for a TV show, right?
The storyline consists of Walt being diagnosed with Stage III cancer (don‘t worry, it‘s not really a spoiler, since it happens fairly quickly in the first season and this detail is written in almost every summary) and given only two years to live, he decides he has nothing to lose. To ensure a good, secure future for his sick son and wife, he finds a „cook-buddy“ Jesse, who was his former student, to join him on a crystal meth dealing, crime adventure. This show portrays how the drug community works and that with this very ‚cool‘ job can come dangerous obstacles, e.g. – death. Search these series up on Netflix and find out how Walt tries to hide the fact that he is a highly wanted dealer and has to hide the lung cancer from his family, his friends and most importantly – the police, while Jesse struggles with his parents and keeps running from the police and bad guys, who are after his bottom.
„Bitch“ [repeated line] – Jesse Pinkman
When I found this show, I was hesitant to watch it, because I didn‘t want to be addicted (ha ha, punny). But when I found out that my good friend saw all episodes and was talking how good it was, I finally put my foot down and looked up the first episode. Then the second. And then the third season. You probably can tell my plan to not be hooked on this show didn‘t work out. No regrets, though.
I would definitely re watch this show (in fact, I am re-watching it right now, hehe) and would also definitely recommend to anyone who hasn‘t jumped on the bandwagon yet.
„Skyler White: And why did it feel so good?
Walter White: Because it’s illegal.“
